VixenPLD is similar to FoxDigi,
VixenTrak and Mini-TNC detailed elsewhere on this site.
However, in this application its
role is based on using an LCD GPS, such as Garmin eTrax Venture etc,
to display APRS Position of the station and the other APRS stations
around. It also digipeat nearby stations resulting in increased area
a group can work.
VixenPLD is designed to
achieve following:
1. Transmit
APRS Position. (With or without GPS)
2. Act as
a Digipeater
3. Easy
configuration thru Hyper-Terminal
4. True
RS232 interface to your PC
5. Send Way Points of
heard Stations to COM port for display on LCD GPS or on your PC.
VixenPLD uses a MX232 to get true RS232
levels. You require a Null-Modem
adapter to configure VixenPLD.
“RX”, “TX” activity
LEDs are provided for observing VixenPLD Activity.
VixenPLD is designed to run of a single 1.5V
cell. The board & cases are designed for this facility in mind.
However at moment only external supply version
is available. Self powered/battery operated version will be
available if enough interest from groups is known
VixenPLD Configuration:
